Attorney Generals Meet In Tortola

The 14th annual meeting of the Organisation of Eastern
Caribbean States (OECS) Legal Affairs Committee, which
comprises Attorneys General from the Eastern Caribbean
- including Anguilla, will take place in the British Virgin
Islands from June 05 to 06 at Long Bay Beach Resort, Tortola.
In general the mission of the committee is to lead law
reform and harmonization based on the requirements of OECS
member states.
According to BVI Attorney General Hon. Kathleen Quartey the
topics scheduled for discussion will include Family Law
Reform Bills and Caribbean Community Competition policy and
law issues.
Attorneys General from Dominica, Anguilla, St. Lucia, St.
Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda and St. Vincent & the
Grenadines are expected to attend the conference. They will
be joined by representatives from the OECS, the United
Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations
Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM).
