(The Valley, Anguilla). The results are in from one of
the most talked about promotions executed by a
telecommunications company to date. Digicel, the Bigger
Better Network had the final draw to their much anticipated
Text to Win a Car Promotion.
The 2008 fully loaded black Toyota Corolla was the talk of
the town as customers young and old were claiming that the
car was theirs.
On the night of the Ms. Digicel Caribbean Talented Teen when
the car was parked at the Landsome Bowl for the general
public to view, a young man admonished the Country Manager,
“Make sure you wipe your feet before getting into my car,
that’s my car you know,” to which she responded with a grin.
Ten customers were randomly selected as finalists, however
only eight contestants appeared to choose a key that would
open the door to car.
The eight contestants were: Felicia Jarret, Irene Piper,
Laura Fleming, Kareem Hodge, Cherile Laud, Thelvin Mathurin,
Vernon Babrow and Davon Halley. Digicel’s Country Manager,
Stephenie Brooks wished all the contestants the best of luck
on being the winner of the brand new Toyota Corolla.
The excitement and nervousness in the air was tangible as DJ
Hammer from KLASS FM 92.9 spoke with various contestants
before they chose their key. The Digicel staff was just as
excited as the contestants to see who would win the car.
The first contestant, Felicia Jarret tried her key, but no
luck, then the second, the third an the fourth participant
Kareem Hodge and still not a winner yet. Then the fifth and
sixth contestants tried, but to no avail. With only two
contestants left the air crackled with anticipation and
excitement as cars driving by stopped to see who the lucky
winner would be outside in Digicel’s front parking lot.
Then the seventh contestant, Vernon Babrow, put in his key .
. . and it turned. Mr. Babrow is the winner of the 2008
fully loaded Toyota Corolla.
Congratulations to Mr. Vernon Babrow from the entire Digicel
staff.
All contestants in the competition had to text the word
‘CAR’ to 5566. Ten were chosen for the final draw and chose
a key that could potentially open the car.
Digicel takes this opportunity to thank all persons who
participated in the promotion and again registers its
commitment to continue to excite the market and also reward
to our customers in meaningful ways.
