On Saturday June 21 at about 9:00pm, three armed
assailants wearing masks entered a Restaurant and Bar
located in the Valley in the vicinity of the Valley Primary
School and held up the staff and the patrons at gun point.
They were able to rob the restaurant of cash. Police
received a report of the robbery at about 9:05pm. One of the
assailants were said to be short about 5ft slightly stocky
in body and dressed in a green camouflage clothing and
wearing a mask, the second assailant was about 6ft in
height, slim in body and dressed in a black long sleeve
shirt with a black jeans pant and a black mask and the third
assailant was said to be about 6ft tall, slim in body and
dressed in a black long sleeve shirt, black jeans pants and
a black mask.
On Monday June 23, at about 8:01pm, Mr. J.L. of
South Hill reported to the police that while on a visit to a
friend in the North Valley area he was attacked by four
young men who robbed him at gun point. He reported that
he was robbed of three hundred dollars US ($300.00US) one
gold chain and four gold rings all valued in excess of four
hundred dollars US each. As a result of police
investigations four young men from the North Valley area -
MP, TP JH and SB were all charged for the robbery and taken
before the court on Thursday 26th June 2008. M P and T B
were remanded to her majesty's prison until 4th July 2008,
while J H and S B were granted bail in the sum of Thirty
thousand dollars EC ($30,000.00EC) their bail conditions
requires them to surrender their travel documents, report to
the police station on a daily basis and to be in the
confines of their parents home between 7:00pm and 7:00am.
On Wednesday 25th June 2008 at about 11:30pm. a business
woman returning to her home in Rock Farm, was attacked by a
person dressed in black clothing, wearing a mask and
brandishing a black handgun. Mrs. A C, a Chinese
national living and managing a business on Anguilla,
struggled with her attacker who was able to get away
with her handbag containing personal documents and cash. |
